En los trabajos de Marta Gottfried las figuras flotan ingrávidamente mientras parecen surgir de un sueño. Nacida en la ciudad de México, creció en el seno de una familia artística donde las visitas de leyendas como Frida Kahlo eran frecuentes. Fuertemente influida por el Impresionismo, Gottfried empezó a vender sus cuadros cuando todavía asistía al instituto. Disfruta especialmente pintando paisajes surrealistas, animales y bailarinas a los que aplica tonos suaves y conmovedores.
